Polar bears have their pick of plunges (BONUS SLIDESHOW)
DOWNBEACH – It is a tradition that to some makes no sense. But to those who partake, the polar bear plunge is the perfect way to start off the New Year: It is a shock to the senses and a test of tenacity, a venture best avoided by the meek.
The 16th annual Downbeach Polar Bear Plunge in Margate sponsored by Robert’s Place was at the stroke of noon on New Year’s Day. It was followed by the Ventnor Polar Bear Plunge at 1 p.m.
