Recreation dance puts on a show

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP -- Girls glided, sashayed and two-stepped across the stage at the Fernwood Avenue Middle School Thursday evening for the Egg Harbor Township Parks and Recreation dance program recital “Guys & Dolls.”

The evening started with a group number as dancers performed on stage or walked through the audience to the “Guys & Dolls” tune, “Luck Be a Lady Tonight.” And it was a lucky evening for the more than 115 dancers ranging in age from 4 to 16.

The performances included a dance with dads, “It’s Raining Men,” the Blue Brothers “Soul Man,” “Thank God I’m a Country Boy,” and other songs celebrating femininity. The entire female cast sang and danced to the finale “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” for the hundreds of family and friends in the audience July 2.
