Swift program celebrates diversity of ELL students (BONUS slideshow)
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – English Language Learner students from the H. Russell Swift School had fun learning about different languages and different cultures at the Countries of Origin event Monday and Tuesday, June 16 and 17.
It didn’t matter what languages they speak; it was an end-of-the-year treat for all the participants as they shared food and culture from their native countries around the world.
The students, who receive about 40 extra minutes of English language instruction a day because of various languages spoken in the home, set up displays and each recited a personal dialogue about their country of origin.
