Annual bedding plants and veggie sale May 10
The Zion United Methodist will hold its annual bedding plants and veggie sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the church grounds located at 652 Zion Road.
Proceeds will help the church’s mission and its planned trip this summer to McDowell County, W. Va., the fifth poorest region in the country.
Tunes Against Turmoil: A Musical Defense for Darfur May 10
Students from the Egg Harbor Township High School have organized “Tunes Against Turmoil: A Musical Defense for Darfur,” from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10 in Tony Canale Park Amphitheater.
The event is to raise awareness of the genocide taking place in Darfur, Sudan and to raise money to support “Doctors Without Borders.” In the event of rain the event will be held in the auditorium of the Fernwood Avenue Middle School.
Admission is $6 per person.
Mother’s Day Country Breakfast May 11
The 79 Club of the Trinity Masonic Lodge will holding its annual Mother’s Day Country Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 11 at the lodge located at 563 Zion Road.

Special Education Resource Group May 14
If you have a child receiving special education services in Egg Harbor Township schools you might consider attending the Special Education Resource Group 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 in the Board Room of the Alder Avenue Middle School.
Parents, teachers and administrators will discuss special education topics, strategies and offer support. The group meets once a month.

Township Committee meets May 14 and 28
Township Committee is scheduled to meet 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, May 14 and May 28 at the Municipal Building on Bargaintown Road. Formal action may be taken.
Country Carnival May 17
The Atlantic Christian School, 391 Zion Road, Egg Harbor Township, will hold a Country Carnival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
The event, which is open to the public, will feature various games for children of all ages. Food, fun, games and a bake-off will fill the day.

New York City trip May 17
The Egg Harbor Township Recreation Department will sponsor a bus trip to New York City on Saturday, May 17.
The bus will leave the Municipal Building on Bargaintown Road at 9 a.m. and will leave the city at 8 p.m. for the return trip. The cost is $30 per person.

Second EHT Faculty Talent Show May 21
The Egg Harbor Township Education Inc. will hold a Faculty Talent Show 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 in the Fernwood Avenue Middle School auditorium.
Tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Last year the fundraiser helped the foundation provide an additional $2,000 college scholarship.
EHT PAL Charity Poker Run set
The Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League will hold its sixth annual charity poker run on Sunday, May 25.
Participants are invited to bring their motorcycle, hot rod, truck or other favorite vehicle to enjoy the ride which, will begin at Bennett Chevrolet at 6721 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. It’s a rain or shine event.
The scenic route will end at the Tuckahoe Inn in Marmora where an after-party will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Registration is $15. All the proceeds benefit the EHT PAL.

Community Center opening June 1
There will be a grand opening for the new Egg Harbor Township Community Center on English Creek Avenue 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1.
Phoenix Fund golf outing June 13
The Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company will hold Phoenix Fund Golf Outing Friday, June 13 at McCullough Emerald Links on Ocean Heights Avenue. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Proceeds will help rebuild its firehouse on Mill Road.
Tickets are $95 and include green fees, cart, box lunch, dinner, prizes and raffles. Tickets for just the dinner at 6 p.m. are $30.

Country Fun dancing Wednesdays
Country Fun is offering dances, including country line dances and lessons at the Scullville Fire Hall from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday nights. The firehouse is located at 1708 Mays Landing-Somers Point Road.
There is a $10 entry fee per person per night. The fee includes one lesson a night and refreshments.
