EGG HARBOR CITY – Paper, scissors, glue, tape, stickers and every other scrapbooking supply was out on the tables in the main ballroom at the Tuscany House this weekend. Ninety scrapbookers came out for Scrap Away Get Away, a marathon of crafting to support the Atlantic County Women’s Center.
Organizers Lila Williams of Mays Landing and Charrise Mathis of Mullica Township were on their way back from a scrapping event more than a year ago when they came up with the idea for scrapbooking as a fundraiser. The idea grew, and the planning culminated in an event that lasted from 4 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Sunday.
By the end of the weekend $1,200 had been raised for the shelter.
